The album version is almost romantic in its prettiness, but in this performance, the rough edges on this emotional rollercoaster aren't smoothed out, especially the intense growling anger in her throat as she sings "I cannot bear to look at you... I cannot move from this pinpoint in the room". It cuts painfully but the raw honesty is also powerfully affecting.

No other record released in the past year compares to 'Inland'. Nothing even comes close, and I'm not being hyperbolic. It's an astonishingly brilliant album and this is one of the very best tracks. The knowing resignation of an ill-fated love contained in that last couplet transcends simple romanticism and breaks my heart every single time I hear it. If you have anyone in your life that you care about and who has the capacity to appreciate more than just the childish mass-produced pablum currently ruling the charts of "pop music" today, please buy them this record.

Super video! Love the juxtaposition between nature and the built environment.

The collective focus here is inspiring and the results are nothing short of staggering. On a side note, the interplay between that Gibson SG and that Fender Jaguar is a chef's kiss.
